12 Seeds Growing in
Love
series
half page discussion
starters
This series was originally created as a downloadable "mini-newsletter"
starting in April 2006. Each issue was dated and had one seed as its
theme, with a brief story related to the seed. Each issue was
a half sheet (5.5" wide by 8.5" tall), printed on both sides.
As the series was used by various groups, we found that it would have
greater value as an undated series that could be used at any time. So we converted the issues into an undated series. Now they can be
used one per month or one per week or however you wish.
Some groups use these concise pages in a "seed of the
month" rotation: In January, the seed is Respect; in February it's
Encouragement, and so on. You can start using the series in any month.
Some groups use the series as an ongoing reminder of the principles
after a complete study of the 12 Seeds manual.
Distribute Growing in Love as you
wish: as bulletin inserts, study sheets for a class or discussion group,
handouts when visiting people, etc. Each issue serves as a training tool and as
a reminder of an important relationship principle. There's room at the bottom of the second side to add
your own message if you wish.
Printing suggestions: The
Growing in Love issues come with front and back side-by-side on a full sheet. We
recommend printing out on an 8.5" x 11" full sheet, then printing the front and
back again on
the other side of the full sheet. Then, split the sheet in two to yield two 5.5"
x 8.5" sheets. Print as many copies as you need. For additional tips
on downloading and printing PDF files, see our PDF tips. |

1. Make sure you have Adobe Acrobat Reader
4.0 or higher. You can download a newer version for free from the Adobe site at:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html
2. If a file won't open when you click on it
from your browser, try right-clicking on the file instead of left-clicking on
it. A dialogue box should come up. Left-click on "Save target as." Another
dialogue box should come up, enabling you to save the file to a "Temp" folder,
or wherever you wish. After you click "Save," the file should download.
Then, open that saved file. This should call up your Acrobat Reader Program and
display the file. If this does not call up Acrobat Reader and display the file,
start the Acrobat Reader program separately and then open the saved file from
Reader.
3. If you choose to print the file from
Acrobat Reader, make sure that "shrink oversize pages to size" is not checked on
the print dialogue screen -- otherwise the pages may print out smaller than they
should -- this is especially important for
multiple-up items like 2-up or 3-up checklists or bookmarks, where the items will not line up
correctly unless printed full size.
4. If the page comes out in
portrait mode when it should be landscape mode, make sure that "Auto-rotate and
center pages" is checked on the Acrobat Reader print dialogue screen.
5. If you lose detail (such as
tinted or shaded areas) when printing (detail you see when the file is on your
screen), try checking "print as image" on your print dialogue screen. Then print
the file. It will take longer to print out, but the detail should be much
better.
