Our Vision:
Thousands of people in recovery who are planting and
cultivating 12 Seeds relationship principles in their own lives, each then
influencing 30, 60 or 100 other people to do the same
– so that God is
honored, lives are transformed, and individuals, families, churches and society
are blessed.
The Need:
The 12 Seeds, when practiced,
yield blessings for all. Unfortunately, these principles are often ignored and
seldom taught today. Instead, society often promotes the
opposites
of these values, contributing to consequences such as addiction, family
dysfunction, strife, job loss, divorce, suicide, community degradation and
crime. The absence or weakness of even one of the 12 Seeds adversely affects
individuals and groups; their growth blesses everyone involved.
A few facts about U.S. crime & addiction:
-
2,319,258 incarcerated in U.S. at start of 2008!
-
Over
750,000 released back into society yearly!
-
Recidivism (return to prison) rates are 40-70%!
-
High
correlation between addiction & crime!
-
22.6
million with substance abuse or dependency problems!
-
Costs
of incarceration over $50 billion yearly!
-
Incalculable additional costs to individuals & society!
-
Poor
relationships contribute to all of the above!
We train and
equip leaders in recovery ministries and caring churches …

Leader-Mentor
Workshops

These workshops are for leaders and mentors who
are, or wish to, help people grow better relationships with God and with others.
Introductory workshops present some basic concepts and a few ways to lead or
facilitate life-changing 12 Seeds classes, discussions or mentoring in prison or
addiction recovery work. Half-day and full-day workshops introduce additional
concepts and provide actual practice in leading or mentoring. A high point of
all 12 Seeds workshops is sharing ideas and experiences with others who are
already using the 12 Seeds, as well as deepening one’s own understanding of the
principles!
The 12 Seeds
Book
Together with the Bible, this is a basic
text for 12 Seeds training. Originally published in 2002, this revised and
expanded edition, entitled
12 Seeds for Successful
Relationships, is a concise guide to
building rich relationships at home, on the job and in the church. The book
explains the Biblical basis for each seed, how each helps fill a human need and
how each is part of a growing relationship with the Lord and with others.
Includes over 250 ways to grow the seeds in daily life. This book is now used in
a number of recovery ministries. For more about the 12 Seeds book,
The 12 Seeds
Bible Curriculum
This is a complete 18-unit course
designed for an entire year of study. The course includes a large teacher’s
manual, a student workbook, an illustrated allegory about the 12 Seeds, and the
12 Seeds book. Written by a professional Christian schoolteacher who also taught
it over an entire school year, it is now in use in a number of organizations.
